“Ishto Juevez” en Nueva York acompañado de comida típica Gourmet guatemalteca

Ishto Juevez se presentará este domingo 29 de septiembre en el restaurante “Ix” ubicado en “Nueva York” acompañado del reconocido músico “JuanPi Granados”.

El restaurante «Ix», se encuentra en Brooklyn y se ha caracterizado por brindar a sus comensales platillos chapines así como originarios del sur de México.

El restaurante “Ix” es propiedad del chef quetzalteco “Jorge Cárdenas”, quien lo inauguró en noviembre de 2017 junto a sus primas Brenda Castellanos y Ana Prince.

En este recinto forma parte del equipo de trabajo el reconocido chef quetzalteco “Jorge Cárdenas” quien aporta sus amplios conocimientos culinarios adquiridos por Europa; Cárdenas era musico en Guatemala y su interés por la gastronomía lo llevo ha establecerse en Nueva York.

Es de recalcar que la revista especializada en comida internacional “Eat the world New York City” destaco al platillo típico “El Jocón” preparado en este restaurante como a una comida exótica que se debe probar; según menciona el artículo.

GUATEMALA 🇬🇹 Dispatch from Prospect Lefferts Gardens, Brooklyn: 📸 (1) Jocón (2) Lincoln Road facade. ° One of my favorite dishes in the entire city is the jocón at Tierras Centro Americanas in Jamaica, Queens, so I was ecstatic to see the dish listed on a second menu finally. The version here ($13) comes out looking perfect, topped with crisp green beans and a deep green color from tomatillos, cilantro, and green peppers. Toasted pumpkin seeds called pepitos, garlic, and onions provide the rest of the palate. Oddly left out was the heat that is usually a big part of this dish, which I later learned from the owner was an unfortunate byproduct of his customers who for the most part do not like spicy food. ° The menu is absolutely all over the map, with Spanish tortilla de huevo, sandwiches, kimchi soup, and plenty of breakfast options with high end coffee and tea. But look a little closer to some of the items, especially in the soups list, and you start to see some standouts. Alternatively you could find some of these soups on the menus of a Mexican or Guatemalan restaurant, but what they share in common is their roots in centuries old Mayan kitchens. Este platillo es la especialidad de la casa y este cubierto con ejotes crujientes y un verde intenso característico de una mezcla de miltomate, cilantro, pepitoria (Semilla de Calabaza) y pimientos verdes.

Además de “El Jocón” podremos encontrar comidas como: Caldo de Res, Mole, Quichon; así como fusiones con cocina latina, japonesa y francesa.

Así que no hay escusas; este domingo estará cargado de buena música y comida gourmet.
